Participation in the DUST-DN European Workshop on Atmospheric Dust | 20-22 April 2026

Athina Savva, a PhD student within our Atmospheric Cluster, successfully participated in the three-day DUST-DN Workshop held in Larnaca, Cyprus, from April 20–22, 2026. During the event, Ms. Savva presented her latest research titled, “Desert dust microphysical properties utilizing GRASP algorithm from synergy of PollyXT Lidar & sun/sky photometer in Limassol, Cyprus.” Her work highlights the importance of combining active and passive remote sensing techniques to better characterize the complex dust layers frequently observed over the Eastern Mediterranean. The workshop provided an excellent platform to network with international researchers and fellow doctoral candidates specializing in mineral dust, further strengthening our cluster’s collaborative ties within the DUST Doctoral Network.
