Our Atmospheric Cluster proudly participated in the European Geosciences Union General Assembly 2026 (EGU2026), held in Vienna, Austria, from 3–8 May 2026. The conference brought together scientists from across the globe to exchange knowledge and discuss the latest advances in atmospheric and climate research.
Representing our team of Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence, Athina Savva and Georgia Charalambous presented their research during the AS3.43 session:
“Aerosol observations and links with atmospheric, climate and solar energy studies; Results of the Harmonia-COST Networking Action.”
Poster Presentations:
🔹 Athina Savva presented: https://doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-egu26-16500
“Evaluation and Intercalibration of Various Low-Cost Sun-Photometers During the RACE-EarthCARE Validation Experimental Field Campaign in Thessaloniki, Greece”
🔹 Georgia Charalambous presented: https://doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-egu26-14140
“Evaluation of the Cyprus UV Index (UVI) Forecasting System Over One Year of Observations: Assessing the Impact of Ozone and Aerosols”
Beyond the scientific presentations, EGU2026 provided an excellent opportunity for networking and collaboration with the international atmospheric research community. Participating in major scientific events such as EGU strengthens our commitment to advancing atmospheric observations, satellite validation activities, and climate-related research in Cyprus and beyond.
