Smoky Day 2026 at TROPOS by the Leibniz ScienceCampus BioSmoke| 30 March-1 April 2026

During her research stay in Leipzig, Germany, PhD student Maria Poutli had the opportunity to participate in the “Smoky Day 2026” scientific workshop, organized by the Leibniz ScienceCampus BioSmoke. Held from 30 March to 1 April 2026 at the Institute for Meteorology, Leipzig University, the workshop brought together experts to explore the processes and impacts of smoke and aerosol particles on the atmosphere and biosphere. During the event, Maria presented her research on CARO observations of fresh and aged smoke plumes, focusing on their optical properties, and received insightful feedback. The workshop provided an excellent platform for interdisciplinary exchange, fostering discussions with leading researchers and supporting the further development of her work.
