Elena Markočič is an accomplished Research Project Manager with extensive experience in leading and monitoring high-impact research initiatives. Currently working at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, Elena has overseen complex, multi-national projects in research domains related to engineering, sustainability and advanced computing. Her career spans over a decade, with prior roles including Director for Research and Innovation at S.O.S. Projekt d.o.o., Slovenia, and Project Manager at the European Sustainable Energy Innovation Alliance (eseia) in Austria.
Elena holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maribor, where her dissertation focused on polymer processing with supercritical fluids. She also holds an MSc in Biocompatible Materials from “Politehnica” University of Bucharest. Her technical skills encompass project management, biomaterial and polymer characterization, and interdisciplinary research coordination.
