ERATOSTHENES Participates in the International Solar Radiometric Campaign| 22 September-10 October, Davos, Switzerland

The ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence (ECoE) proudly participated in the International Radiometric Comparison Campaign held in Davos, Switzerland, from 22 September to 10 October 2025.
This major international event, hosted by the Observatorium Davos PMOD and World Radiation Center WRC and organised by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), serves as a global benchmark for ensuring traceability and accuracy in solar and atmospheric radiation measurements. The 2025 campaign included:
• 14th International Pyrheliometer Comparison (IPC-XIV)
• 4th International Pyrgeometer Comparison (IPgC-IV)
• 6th Filter Radiometer Comparison (FRC-VI)
The ERATOSTHENES CoE participated with its pyrheliometer, pyrgeometer, and Microtops II hand-held sun photometer, contributing to the international effort to harmonize and improve radiometric measurement standards worldwide.
Representing the Cyprus Atmospheric Remote Sensing Observatory (Eratosthenes CARO) of ECoE:
• Georgia Charalambous actively participated in all three campaigns (IPC-XIV, IPgC-IV, and FRC-VI), engaging in calibration and intercomparison sessions.
• Athina Savva participated in the 6th Filter Radiometer Comparison (FRC-VI) with the Microtops II instrument.
Their involvement highlights ECoE’s growing role in international atmospheric and solar radiation research, strengthening the quality assurance of its observational network across Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean.
Supported by the ATARRI and EXCELSIOR projects—where PMOD/WRC is a partner—this activity strengthens Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence’s role in atmospheric and solar-radiation research, expands its international network, and builds experience in planning and implementing field campaigns.
