We are excited to share our participation at COMECAP 2025 – the 17ᵗʰ International Conference on Meteorology, Climatology & Atmospheric Physics, held in Nicosia, Cyprus (29 Sept – 1 Oct 2025) under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment of the Republic Of Cyprus.
Organized by the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence, the conference brought together leading experts in atmospheric sciences.
As members of CARO (Cyprus Atmospheric Remote Sensing Observatory) and ATARRI, we proudly contributed with the following studies:
🔹 CARO NF: A Key Component in Holistic Atmospheric Observation and Complex Event Analysis – Oral presentation by Dr. Rodanthi-Elisavet Mamouri.
🔹 A climatology of air temperature extremes in the Mediterranean region for the 85-year period 1940-2024 – Oral presentation by Dr. George Kotsias
🔹 Wildfire Smoke Cases: Lidar Observations in Cyprus – Poster by Maria Poutli, PhD student.
🔹 Direct Radiative Effects of Dust Events Over Limassol, Cyprus in 2024 using Ground-Based Measurements and Modelling – Virtual presentation by Georgia Charalampous, , PhD student.
🔹 Studying Desert Dust from the Sahara and the Middle East Using the Cyprus Atmospheric Remote Sensing Observatory over Limassol – Poster by Athina Savva, PhD student.
🔹 Two-Year Wind Observation in Limassol, Cyprus: Monthly and Seasonal Analysis from Doppler LiDAR at the CARO National Facility – Oral presentation by Constantinos Chrysostomou, PhD student.
