The Dust Modelling Workshop took place on 25–26 November in Limassol, Cyprus, implemented by the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) and hosted by the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence under the ATARRI project framework. With both in-person and online participation, the event brought together experts, researchers, and stakeholders from across the dust and atmospheric sciences community.
Throughout the two days, speakers presented cutting-edge research on dust sources, emissions, and transport, along with observed variability and long-term trends. Participants explored modelling approaches across weather and climate timescales, gaining insight into how dust affects radiation, cloud formation, and broader atmospheric processes. The workshop also highlighted dust impacts on ocean biogeochemistry and atmospheric chemistry, advancements in data assimilation, and emerging techniques in forecasting and reanalysis.
