On 4 February 2026, the Barcelona Supercomputing Center – Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) successfully delivered the 3rd Virtual Training (VT3) on Dust Modelling, within the framework of the ATARRI project and the Eratosthenes CARO – ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence.
This third session focused on systematic comparison of dust model outputs with remote sensing observations, strengthening participants’ skills in validation and interpretation of dust forecasts. The training provided hands-on experience in:

Through practical exercises and real-case applications, participants enhanced their capacity to evaluate dust model performance using both ground-based and satellite data, reinforcing research, monitoring, and operational dust forecasting capabilities.
