From 21 to 23 October 2025, members of the Cyprus Atmospheric Remote-Sensing Observatory (CARO) participated in ACTRIS Week 2025, held in Évora, Portugal. The event brought together the entire ACTRIS community — including national and central facilities, scientists, and service providers — to exchange knowledge, share progress, and shape the future of atmospheric research in Europe.
Day 1 (21 October): The week began with the general ACTRIS ERIC sessions and the CARGO-ACT community meeting, setting the stage for collaborative discussions across all components of the infrastructure.
Day 2 (22 October): The CARO members took part in parallel workshops. Dr. Rodanthi-Elisavet Mamouri participated in the CARS-ARES workshop, contributing to discussions on aerosol remote sensing advancements. At the same time, the PhD student Constantinos Chrysostomou participated in the CCRES workshop, where new developments, methods, and best-practices in cloud remote sensing were discussed. There, also an overview presentation of the CARO National Facility was given, highlighting CARO’s capabilities and ongoing activities in atmospheric remote sensing.
Day 3 (23 October): The event concluded with the National Facility Technical & Scientific Forum, where representatives from across Europe exchanged experiences, discussed new developments, and explored synergies to enhance ACTRIS operations and services.
Participation in ACTRIS Week is key to strengthening international collaboration, enhancing the visibility of CARO within the ACTRIS network, and keeping up with the latest advancements in atmospheric observation and data harmonization. Such exchanges ensure that our national facility continues to align with European best practices and contributes actively to the collective effort of understanding aerosols, clouds, and trace gases across diverse environments.
