School and Uni Visit Limassol (CARO, solar station and offices)| 5 June 2026

On June 6, three students from Pancyprian Gymnasium visited the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence facilities. The students had won the Stockholm Junior Water Prize under the guidance of Despoina Makri, a member of ECoE, and, as a reward, requested to visit and learn more about the Centre’s facilities, including the CARO station and the solar radiation station.

Four members of the Atmosphere Team presented the structure of the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence, the Atmosphere Team, the CARO station, and the solar radiation station. The presentation and visits were also attended by undergraduate students from the Cyprus University of Technology, who were conducting practical exercises on remote sensing. During the station visits, the team explained the measurements collected by each instrument and answered all students’ questions. Additionally, they referred to the main research activities conducted by the team, particularly those related to satellite data validation.
